Board Member of Transparency International Ukraine Oleksandr Banchuk resigned from this position in connection with his appointment as the Deputy Minister of Justice.
Oleksandr Banchuk is a criminal justice expert of the Center for Policy and Legal Reform, PhD in Law, who has written or co-written about 40 books and over 100 articles.
He has been a member of working groups on development of the Concept for Reform of Criminal Justice in Ukraine (2008), as well as the new Criminal Procedural Code, laws on free legal aid, on prosecution, on the National Police and on the State Investigation Bureau.
“I am thankful to Oleksandr for many years of our work together. He is worthy of this position. I believe that Oleksandr can handle the challenges in the work of the Ministry of Justice. On our part, we are ready for fruitful cooperation in the future,” said Executive Director of TI Ukraine Andrii Borovyk.
