Unknown individuals are using the name of member of the Public Control Council under the NABU, deputy executive director of TI Ukraine Andrii Borovyk, to discredit the PCC.

Ukrainian courts received “spam” on behalf of Andrii Borovyk saying that judge of Rivne Rayon Court Oleksandr Shtohun is allegedly a consultant of a “special operations department” under the NABU.

The fake letter obtained by the Council names the judge “one of NABU’s best agents” who provides the NABU with “weekly information on his colleagues.” The so-called “Andrii Borovyk” claims that judge Shtohun was provided with the necessary tools to “take provocative action” against his colleagues. The fraudster asks to keep the letter confidential, allegedly afraid of revenge.

Public Control Council under the NABU declares: Andrii Borovyk has never written any such letter. It is fake. Apart from the personal testimony of the PCC member, other facts pointing to it are a fake signature, wrong contact information on the envelope, a mistake in the capitalization of the PCC itself and a number of other details.

While Andrii Borovyk does not intend to file a report on the crime with the police, he reserves the right to do it in the future.
