On September 11, bail was set at over 5 million UAH for the former CEO of state enterprise Boryspil International Airport in a High Anti-Corruption Court ruling. The man is charged with abuse of power that caused the enterprise to incur losses of over UAH 16.5 million.

Authorities believe that between 2014 and 2019 high-ranking members of the state enterprise leased out spaces within the airport to third parties in the private sector.

Only the State Property Fund of Ukraine possesses the right to lease government property and it can only do so after conducting a tender. In violation of current legislation, airport officials leased spaces within it to third, private-sector parties at noncompetitive prices.

SAPO says the losses incurred by the enterprise as a result of two such leases amount to over 16,5 million UAH.
