Both seized heat and power plants have fully started operating before the temperature dropped below zero, says Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA).

Hot water has finally been supplied to the utility networks of Novyi Rozdol and Novoyarivsk. Thus, the heating season has finally started in two areas of Lviv oblast, even if a little late.

“I believe it is a remarkable milestone in the ARMA’s work. It was the first time that the Agency faced such systemic, powerful resistance at various levels. But thanks to the joint effort of anti-corruption agencies, national and local authorities and the public, we were able to put both heat and power plants in operation,” says legal advisor with Transparency International Ukraine Kateryna Ryzhenko.
As a reminder, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has completed, under procedural management of the SAPO, the pre-trial investigation of alleged misappropriation of gas for the amount of UAH 1.4 billion. Later, the ARMA announced that the owners of the heat and power plants were obstructing the heating season.
