On May 30, the project ProZorro.Sale has celebrated six-months anniversary of the joint work of Transparency International Ukraine, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

For the 6 months, the project helped to add to the state budget 1 billion hryvnias because of the effective and transparent assets sale. The team aims is to reach 7 billion US dollars in sale. All in all, about 28 thousand auctions have been organized, with the most expensive bid reaching 28 million hryvnias.

“We have inherited from the Soviet Union surplus assets in many spheres. ProZorro.Sale is the effective way to sale these assets. It is the money that the taxpayers will receive, the assets that will be of much more benefit to the new owners and also create new working places and result in paid taxes,” First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Maksym Nefiodov, said.

“The system ProZorro.Sale is monitored by Transparency International Ukraine. For now, there are no system malfunctions. At the same time, there is a standard process of piloting, when the system functionality needs to be redesigned. Meanwhile, there is a lack of control by publicity,” Executive Director of TI Ukraine, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, believes.

“The system ProZorro.Sale is rapidly developed. It requires monitoring of two aspects. The first concerns monitoring of the system itself. It is necessary to make sure the new system software and hardware works properly on the side of  both the central database that the IT Ukraine uses for the piloting project and on the side of the project, ProZorro.Sale, monitoring of the electronic platforms, Yevhen Bilyk, explains.

“The second aspect is monitoring of the external factors that can influence the effectiveness of the system. For example, it has become popular  to forbid tenderings of Deposit Guarantee Funds through the court, although the law does not clear define it. TI Ukraine draws public attention to this issue.”

The project Chairman, Oleksii Sobolev, mentioned: “The students of Norwegian Business School have recently conducted research on the projects similar to ours abroad. It appears to be that ProZorro.Sale becomes a precedent for the world.”

So far, ProZorro.Sale organizes charity auctions A Month of Humaneness where the bids form celebrities are being sold.

The money will be spent on the medical ventilation apparatus for the Institute of Neurosurgery.

Two bids “Tea Drinking with Liubomyr Huzar” and “Hot Air Balloon Flights” have already been sold, and “The Breakfast with Maksym Nefiodov” will be on sale on the 1st of June.
