Euromaidan SOS has published a list of local leaders and volunteers who disappeared and were captured by russia, and has launched a joint action campaign to protect them.

Ukrainian cities and their residents actively and unbendingly resist the invading actions of the occupiers, so, russia resorts to atrocities that are war crimes.

We are talking about persecution of local government representatives, journalists, religious figures, volunteers, and civil society activists in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

Threats, physical violence, disappearances, arbitrary detentions, and other forms of harassment in Melitopol, Kherson, Berdiansk, Kakhovka, Slavutych, and other settlements are reported by the affected activists and their relatives. Those released inform about threats, illegal physical violence, and improper conditions in captivity.

Every day, there are more and more such messages. Occupiers force cooperation or involuntary cessation of public activities.

This is a war crime. In the context of an international armed conflict, the detention of civilians is strictly prohibited in accordance with Articles 34, 49 of the Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons from 12.08.1949, Article 75 of the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions from 12.08.1949, concerning the protection of victims of international armed conflicts (Protocol 1) from 08.06.1977.

We urge:
