On November 14 and 15, the High Qualification Commission of Judges (HCJC) conducted a test for general knowledge in the field of law and knowledge of court specialization among the participants in the competition to fill 25 positions of judges in the Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HACC).
140 participants took part in the testing (87 for the positions of HACC judges and 53 for the positions of judges of the HACC Appeals Chamber) out of 161 admitted.
A total of 123 (74 to the HACC and 49 to the HACC AC) participants were able to successfully pass this stage of the qualification exam. 17 participants failed to score the minimum threshold of correct answers and no longer participate in the competition.
According to our calculations, the average score on this test was 129.5 among candidates to the first instance of the HACC and 131.5 among the candidates to the appellate instance of the HACC out of a maximum of 150. The lowest score recorded was 85 and the highest was 150.
21 contestants did not participate in the test. According to the rules, the commission will have to assess the seriousness of their non-appearance and then decide on their future fate in the competition.
Participants who successfully pass this stage of the exam are admitted to the next tests—testing of cognitive abilities (IQ) and a practical task later on. Unfortunately, due to technical problems with the testing of cognitive abilities, its schedule is still unknown. However, the HQCJ has already promised to inform the participants about the new schedule in advance.
