On June 10, the commission selecting the head of ARMA held a meeting and voted to hold a repeat competition. All members of the commission supported the decision.

The reason was the absence of a candidate, or candidates, who could be recommended to the government for appointment. Opening the meeting, commission chair Kateryna Ryzhenko recalled that on April 16 the commission held an interview with the only candidate to reach this stage of the competition. In the end, however, not all members of the commission agreed that he met the criteria of professionalism and integrity.

For that reason, the commission ultimately decided to hold a repeat competitive selection for the post of Head of the National Agency, in line with Article 5(10)(9) of the Law on ARMA.

Ryzhenko added that the commission is aware of its responsibility for the outcome of this competition and therefore plans to make additional efforts so that the repeat selection does produce one or two candidates to recommend to the government for appointment.

For now, the commission is continuing its preparations for the repeat competition, including discussion of the communication, technical, and organizational matters involved in launching it.
