Transparency International Ukraine has become an institutional partner of the 4th European Congress of Local Governments, which will take place in Krakow on April 26-27, 2018. The event is a platform where local and regional leaders can meet with public officials, NGOs and business to exchange ideas and best practices.

The organizers of the Congress say that it is social and economic interaction of European regions and cities that stimulates political and economic changes on the continent, and that now is the time for regions and cities to unite on the way to positive change.

The program consists of 5 subject tracks which include over 60 events: topical blocks, panel discussions, seminar, lectures, presentations and receptions.

At the Congress, Transparency International Ukraine will present its work on raising local government transparency. During the event, project manager of Transparent Cities Kateryna Tsybenko will deliver a presentation How CSOs Can Contribute to Improvement of Transparency and Effectiveness of Local Government. Kateryna will speak about TI Ukraine’s experience, about City Transparency Ranking and why it is needed, how cities can change for the better by implementing transparent practices and how the community will benefit from improvement of the ranking score.

As a reminder, Transparent Cities was also represented at the International Economic Forum, which took place this year on March 13-14 in Rzeszow in the thematic block Why the Decentralization Reform Is Not Changing Ukraine.
