WE invite journalists and activists to the presentation of transparency research study of hundreds of major Ukrainian cities. It will be held on July 13 at 13:00 in the free space “Halabuda” Mariupol, Nielsen str., 60. The research is prepared by Transparency International Ukraine and the Institute for Political Education.
How transparent is the authority of Mariupol? For what areas did Mariupol get the most number of points? Why did two areas get zero? You will try to answers these questions.
In the transparency rating of the hundreds of largest Ukrainian cities, Mariupol is on the 57th place and received 28.05 points out of 100 possible points. The team of analysts developed a top of cities using 91 indicators in 13 areas, including budgeting, land use, personnel policies, procurement, online services, and much more. According to the research study, information on the work of local self-government is semi-open, and the areas of communal property and grants, and the allocation of resources got zero. It is not optimistic. The city authorities have the opportunity for improving these results, and city residents will support these initiatives. The first steps have already been taken. In April Mariupol joined the ProZorro system of effective sales of the state property. Procurement platform recognized as one of the world’s best anti-corruption start-ups.

Kateryna Tsybenko, Project Manager of Transparency International Ukraine “Building Transparent Cities in Ukraine”;
Mykhail Ivchenko, Head of the Tender Department of Mariupol City Council;
Petro Andryushchenko, Coordinator of the Center for Public Initiatives and NGO “Together” Initiative Group.
Special attention will be paid to possible ways which help to improve the worst-performing areas and offer advisory support.
