The Ukrainian chapter of the international anti-corruption organization Transparency International is holding a two-day seminar “Corruption and Fighting It: Regional Dimension” in Lviv on May 21st and 22nd. During this event, the participants will learn how to prevent acts of corruption at the local level and how to find support both among domestic and international NGOs. 
The seminar is an excellent opportunity to learn from specialists who have significant experience conducting anti-corruption campaigns at the local level. 
The training consists of the following: 

  • The cost of corruption at the regional level: economic and social aspects; 
  • Legal tools to fight corruption – how to use them; 
  • The role of society in fighting corruption: how to prevent acts of corruption; 
  • Corruption at the local level: monitoring the allocation of budget funds and analyzing the execution of performed work;
  • Anti-corruption coalitions: how to get support at the regional level, from international and non-governmental organizations. 

The number of participants is limited. The representatives of regional non-governmental organizations, public activists and people interested in fighting corruption at the local level are welcome to attend the event. This event will be held at Hotel Taurus, 5 Kn. Sviatoslava Sq., Lviv.  
The participation is free. The co-ordinators provide food and handouts. Travel and accommodation expenses are not reimbursed.
