THE Ukrainian representative office of the international anti-corruption network Transparency International invites journalists, activists and representatives of local authorities across Ukraine to trainings sessions about increasing the transparency of their cities. The events will be held in 10 Ukrainian cities.
In June, TI Ukraine and the Institute of Political Education presented the transparency rating of 100 cities available at transparentcitits.in.ua. 13 areas of responsibility of the city government were measured including information on the work of local authorities, access and participation, procurement, housing policy, budgeting and contracts, grants, funding, social services, personnel issues, professional ethics and conflict of interest, land use and construction policy, utilities, communal property, as well as education. Only six of the 100 cities crossed the 50 points mark. In spite of this, the situation with transparency in Ukraine leaves much to be desired.
During the trainings sessions, experts in this field will share their experience and best practices for increasing transparency of cities. Particular attention will be paid to those areas of responsibility of the city authorities, in which cities received low scores.
In the table you can find the exact dates of the trainings, places they will be held, as well as the information for representatives of cities we invite to each specific place.
