The study was conducted by Transparency International Ukraine with the support of the Institute for Political Education.

How transparent is the Zaporizhzhia city government? In which areas did the city get the most number of points? Why did one of the areas have zero? You will get answers to the above questions at our event.

In the transparency rating of 100 Ukrainian cities Zaporizhzhia is on the 64th place and got 26 points out of 100 possible. The team of analysts developed a top rating of cities using 91 indicators in 13 areas, including budgeting, land use, personnel policies, procurement, online services, and more. According to the research study, Zaporizhzhia lacks transparency in social services and has to improve such areas as housing policy and communal property. The results obtained are not optimistic. The city authorities have great opportunities for improvements as well as the city’s residents who provide support. For instance, such areas as information about the work of local authorities as well as procurement areas are marked as the positive areas.
