About UAH 170 mln, with which the NABU leadership and the SAPO were to be bribed, were transferred to the needs of defense capacity.

This decision was initiated by NABU detectives and SAPO prosecutors. On April 19, the High Anti-Corruption Court lifted the arrest from the funds.

A bribe of USD 6 mln was supposed to be given in the summer of 2020 for the closure of the case of Mykola Zlochevskyi, the ex-minister of ecology during Yanukovych’s presidency.

USD 5 mln was to be given to the then head of the SAPO Nazar Kholodnytskyi and the head of the main unit of detectives of the NABU Andrii Kaluzhynskyi.

For mediation and assistance, USD 1 mln was to be given to ex-manager of Burisma Group Andrii Kicha, former head of the organizational department of the SFS Olena Mazurova, and dismissed first deputy head of the Kyiv Tax Service Mykola Iliashenko.

Earlier, the HACC approved a plea agreement with Olena Mazurova. She was found guilty of committing a crime of giving a bribe, given a suspended sentence of 5 years of imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years.

Among the terms of the agreement, Mazurova was obliged to expose two other participants in the crime, Andrii Kicha and Mykola Iliashenko.

Symbolically, the funds that may have belonged to the criminal organization of Yanukovych and co., who supported the kremlin’s aggressive policy and the seizure of our territories, will now go to protect our lands.

We are glad that anti-corruption bodies can contribute to Ukraine’s victory in the war in various ways!
