The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, together with the YouControl analytical system and with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, created an online platform  “People for Ukraine.” The aim of the project is to unite and coordinate the actions of all volunteers working to meet the needs of the AFU and TD. The platform will allow profile specialists of the MoD to monitor the opportunities of volunteers to close specific needs of the army in real time.

How the platform works

Volunteers register on the people4ua.com platform. Next is the rapid verification through BankID to prevent the risks of fraud and cases of SRUs. The volunteer completes a short questionnaire: what assistance they are ready to provide, in what volumes, in what locality, how quickly they can close the need. For convenience, needs are broken down by categories: clothing, food, transport, cash assistance, etc.

With the relevant information, the MoD coordinators will be able to promptly close the urgent need. The platform allows the automated distribution of assistance throughout Ukraine to the places where it is currently needed and coordinate logistics for the fastest delivery of goods and services.

Advantages of volunteering on the People for Ukraine platform:

  1. A quick way to get help to where it’s needed. No need to make calls, search, and ask. The moderators of the platform know where and what help is needed immediately, so they “connect” the necessary contacts in minutes.
  2. Avoids chaotic purchases. Centralized wholesale purchases allow to take the weight off the sellers and assistance foundations, as well as to build more optimal logistics and ship assistance in batches, rather than piecemeal. Economic expediency is important today.
  3. Helps avoid frauds. Unfortunately, frauds are also active during the war. To prevent fraud and falsifications, logging in to the platform only takes place after identifying and verifying volunteers. The moderators of the platform by the MoD reserve the right not to explain the reasons for refusing to register on the platform to someone who has not passed verification.
  4. Assistance should be handed over as intended. Specialists of the Ministry of Defence coordinate the provision and receipt of assistance. On the website, you can view the status of your assistance right in your personal account (request for assistance, confirmation of receipt, etc.).
  5. Strong community of concerned citizens. Each of us is a drop in the ocean, but together we turn into an ultra-powerful wave capable of solving any task. The People for Ukraine platform is created precisely to unite all volunteers and direct their potential and strength to the places where their help is most needed. Such a coordinated volunteer center will allow the Ministry of Defence to distribute assistance qualitatively throughout Ukraine, closing the needs of the AFU and TD throughout the country.

The development, testing, refinement/improvement of the project in accordance with the new needs of the MoD is provided by YouControl. The data security of the platform is guaranteed by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. After the end of the war, the People for Ukraine portal will be used to distribute humanitarian assistance for the reconstruction of the country.
