CHESNO Movement Launches Register of Perpetrators of Treason

On March 17, the CHESNO Movement launched the Register of Perpetrators of Treason, which will collect information about government officials who became collaborators.

The “High Treason” marker will be assigned to politicians (MPs of local councils, members of executive bodies, heads of RSAs and DSAs) who made statements in favor of the occupiers, conducted pro-russian propaganda, participated in the organization of the pseudo-referendum, created “bodies” controlled by the russian federation.

“After the MP of the Melitopol City Council declared herself the mayor and attempts to surrender the city to the occupiers, there was an urgent need to form a register of collaborators and replenish it during the war. Eventually, we need to know who should get in the dock and be punished for cooperating with the enemy. Moreover, the public register should perform a preventive function,” explains Vita Dumanska, leader of the CHESNO Movement.

The register already includes 12 people. Among others are former MP Illia Kyva from the OPZZh, MP of the Melitopol City Council Halyna Danylchenko from the Opposition Bloc, mayor of Kupiansk Hennadii Matsehora, one of the leaders of the OPZZh Viktor Medvedchuk, ex-MP Yevhen Balytskyi, and others — both already familiar and new names.

The CHESNO Movement, which has been developing integrity criteria for Ukrainian politicians for more than 10 years, will mark all the traitors in the Polithub database.

“Currently, we will be adding new profiles of politicians that our team is working on to the database. We have already received about a hundred letters and are verifying the information, says Vita Dumanska. — However, it should be noted that cases of high treason among representatives of local self-government are extremely rare. The endurance of mayors and MPs of some cities, even those who were previously considered pro-russian, is admirable. The stories about the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov and the mayor of Skadovsk Oleksandr Yakovlev are inspiring. Mayors and MPs in eastern, southern, and central regions of Ukraine counteract the aggression of the occupiers and do everything possible to help the residents of the cities and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
