Supporting the reform drive of the Ministry of Health, the OpenHealth initiative has brought together NGOs, health and IT business, thematic experts, academics and government representatives to optimize the work and digitalization of Ukrainian healthcare. The initiative is open for everyone who is willing to contribute to the development and implementation of the stated objectives.

Creation of a collaborative product for the benefit of the Ukrainian society is rooted in the following principles:

  1. Involvement of all key actors and everyone who wants to contribute
  2. Value of understanding and mutual respect of the stakeholders
  3. Openness of discussions and decision-making
  4. Accountability and publicity of the project activities
  5. Long-term cooperative action and long-term relevance of the project
  6. Realistic and phased implementation of the product

Creation of an electronic healthcare system, which will simplify interaction for all of its users and will be:

  1. Effective
  2. Safe
  3. Modern
  4. Handy
  5. Transparent
  6. Useful

The following is already implemented:

  1. An initiative group was formed
  2. Memorandum of cooperation was signed
  3. A roadmap, vision of a system architecture and basic software were prepared

Further planned activities:

  1. Create a ready-to-use MVP (minimum viable product)
  2. Run the MVP on the primary healthcare level
  3. Digitize the healthcare system step by step
